“ If you're looking for a vibe with great views this is your spot. Flora is overlooking Buffalo Bayou park and offers a variety of great drinks and traditional Mexican food. They've got a varied menu ranging from ceviche to fajitas and street tacos. I got a piña colada fresca which was refreshing on such a hot June evening. My table got a queso and guacamole to share. The queso has chorizo in it, it wasn't too flavorful or spicy. The guacamole was lacking surprisingly. The staff did come out to mix it table side but it wasn't spicy and didn't have a onion or cilantro taste to it. We even asked for more jalapeños to add to it, still wasn't spicy. The street tacos al pastor however was bomb. The salsas accompanied it were awesome and deliciously spicy and the pork was tender and flavorful. I also got a fideo chicken soup, a cup was more than enough for me. It was warm and inviting with bits of fideo pasta and strips of shredded chicken. Not too overwhelming in flavor but a good soup to try. Dessert was great. I highly recommend the flan super smooth and had a nice balance of sweetness and the churros were fine. I think they could've been crispier. They have valet for parking dedicated to Flora patrons but if you come early enough there's public parking that isn't coned off, 3 hours max. ”

“ This review is for Flora, not the previous restaurant concept called The Dunlavy. We went for dinner last night 3/2/2022 on the second night of opening. Our expectations were tempered as we knew that it takes a while to work out kinks when restaurants first open. No kinks were detected last night!!! Ambiance: This space is gorgeous. Probably one of the best in Houston. I always felt it was underutilized with the Dunlavy Breakfast/Lunch only. The trees at night are uplit and the chandeliers just make this place breathtaking. Service: I guess they haven't been advertising the new Flora concept much other than on social media pages, because while it did have many diners, it was not crowded at all. I'm guessing once the word gets out it will be much harder to get a table. Service was attentive, prompt, and pleasant. I did not catch our Waiter's name, but should have because she was polite and informative about the menu. Food: Wow. The Octopus with Churizo, Sweet Potato and Sour Cream. The best in town!! Previous title was held by MAD, which still has a delicious octopus, but not as flavorful as we had last night at Flora. Don't miss it. Also had the tacos al Pastor. So good. Tres leches delicious as well. Not a single miss on the menu. We left stuffed, but plan to go back to try all the items we missed this go around. It is not an inexpensive restaurant. Mixed drinks will run you close to $20 (which is comparable to other pricey restaurants in Houston, but a bit of a bummer nonetheless as I would have liked to try many featured on their menu) Look forward to dining here in the future! ”

“ Yummy brunch place! This place is more for the ambiance than the actual food in my opinion. Theree's a great porch that's dog-friendly. My fiancee got the prime rib sandwich which was a decent portion and I tried the coddled egg for around $6 in price. We also split a blueberry danish. Everything was decent, but it seemed more of an ambiance place than a food food place! ”

“ Such a pretty ambiance. Just a remarkable place to eat. I love the open concept. I would return just for the scenery. Located on Allen Parkway overseeing a turtle creek. I ate my breakfast and watched turtles go in and out of the pond. Oh... I loved it. The food was clean. Quaint. Well made. Everything was on point. Mid-range price point. Breads were crispy, eggs were fluffy and avocados were fresh. I would definitely return :) especially for the views. ”

Beautiful cafeteria style dining with lush greenery due to the convenience of memorial park and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling! The service is pretty limited where you pay at the register and when the plate is made, someone bring it out to you. There's nothing special about the dishes on the menu here. They taste bland mostly but hey gorgeous wooden tables with well curated decor! If you just want to enjoy the scenery, stop by. If you're looking for a delicious meal or outstanding drinks, keep searching. ”
